We crafted a toy, last time. You beheld it and mucked around that, a multidimensional figure with no how-tos. A solid disc, mere and unworkable form to embody the gist of (Un)DIY (do it yourself). First and foremost, the human capital: dish up a hand, tirelessly drawing. Pick up a sheer attitude, and the bang, and the perv to play. And a hectic and targeted mind. More, a ‘needle and thread’ to stitch up a wide crack-ed heart. A bunch to nuke your self-centered chest-thumping attitude in. That’s, on the dot, the ‘rock and raw’ the Capital would pack up in gold. Once the gear is popped up, no way you can jam it. You’d be able to undo the undertaking and get lost in the flow. To overturn DIY into UN-DIY. Events visions people you’ll go through while casting the world is the plot we’ll tell. A space is essential, thus not a space, but praxis on it, a generative struggle to underlay a TAZ, a Temp Autonomous Zone.

Has been stellar to keep working under wraps but in the very public eye. Growing yearly as old as invisible. From this hideout, the horde of knack-some makers gone through and carving Crack! out have clearly seen the things to come. They all know there can be no story but in a given mode of production. The way it’s produced is the way the tale embodies. A grand publisher can be affected by raising up a brand new stuff - whatever book or paper sort - surfing ware among all goods: change the fill-in, the feature doesn’t ever. To us all - minding the way - the point is casting both core and signifier (perhaps, this plot can’t be word kind, neither endowed with a storyline). Then it comes to hand this piece around to those able to unfold it, whatever paper or fabric texture can be. It’s a love affair collapsing in a preset scenario rooted in patience and brightly targeted. If you can’t see that, hardly you’ll catch what’s bubbling in the bowels of Forte Prenestino during the Crack!-ed days, hardly you’ll find a way-home in the hill-reputed grounds of our festival.

Capital leeches everything can digest. And fakes what can’t crank out, forging orbits networks issues. Entre nous is TAZ, grass-root movement and independence; on the other side...help yourselves with malls, watchdogs and outputs. Capital cheats lives and hives; to Hakim Bey, our art is bloods while its one is goods. The machine has to be fueled, the knowledge subsumed, the general intellect cashed on. “Come inside” - they say - “come join us in the leisure park!” This move in live-less mokups grounds is nothing but gentrifying the ‘bricks and mortar’ city and then the relational city and then the paper city. There’s an underneath syntax holding - next to and facing each other - this things together: city-life is a narrative practice, houses are frames, rooms are strips of a story we are visually transferring. The habitat, the language: both a ‘question of space’. Strip us of a space, no tale there can be anymore. It’s a heavy matter. As heavy as it crushes into us, lone copyists silently living on draws and I prefer not tos. That’s not about being off, anyway; it’s about settling our Cracklands out of the statement. Even eventually: no encores, a ‘night-only’ piece.

Out from the ware-sphere, we acted otherwise: we got involved with a notable fiction-publishing house. Yes, you’ve got it: eight tales, by who had drawn together the networks since the very beginning or in the course of, growing up in the broth of independent publishing. We thrust the Creative Commons license upon it, the same as we cut our own issues. A copyleft species. Since we are in this together, the shared target should be dismantling the sense of ‘author’ and ‘copyright’, setting the collective wisdom free to flow as blood in the veins. We couldn’t ever figure out else way. So we made up La Rabbia (Anger), to be delivered on September facing the mainstream diffusion, disseminating our ‘way to’ out there. The stuff is truly pissed off stories, as well as once you realize the game is not just over but you’re not allowed to play. As well as feeling as locked in a lift in a lifetime lasting weekend. As well as being trapped in a screwed-in time gap. As well as you can’t run into life, at least you can clash with it. As well as you can’t work it up in a pure distilled rage. This book is a gamble, as a mission in a deep space spot since you can rely on your (under)ground control while mapping the Crackland galaxy.
